Fran Drescher was among the parade of stars to hit the red carpet ahead of the 96th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
While The Nanny alum has had a wildly successful career as an actress, on this night she had an even higher purpose serving as the national president of the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA).
'I feel very honored to be representing SAG-AFTRA as the president after a long and arduous strike and now we come and celebrate this marvelous industry and ourselves triumphantly,' she told ABC's Mark S. Allen while making her way along the red carpet.
The New York City native, 66, stunned in the fashion department in a custom black-patterned dress from Ami Paris that hugged her womanly curves, all while giving a hint or two of her figure with its sheer design.
She would also don black pointed pumps and accessorize with a pair of stylish dangling earrings, as she carried a small black leather purse for her essentials.

Before heading out to take part in Hollywood's biggest night, the Saturday Night Fever alum took to her Instagram page to give her 1.2 million Instagram fans and followers a glimpse at her beauty preps.
Showing off her penchant for fashion and fun, she made her first appearance in front of friends and colleagues at home in a video showing her doing an impromptu catwalk.
'Wow' and 'beautiful' were just two of the compliments coming from the people behind the camera, while she strutted her stuff in front of them.
'Oscars 24 baby,' she declared with confidence as she kept one eye on the camera.'
After parading her ensemble, she added, 'Ami Paris, here I come,' in a reference to the designer of her custom dress.
'Almost there…,' she declared in the caption of the clip, which prompted her glam squad to do a couple of tweaks before heading to the ceremony.
Once those small changes were made she and a couple members of her team struck a pose and announced: 'Off we gooooo!!!!'

Drescher began her campaign to become president of the SAG-AFTRA union in 2021, and ultimately she won the election against actor Matthew Modine in September of that year.
Nearly two years later, SAG-AFTRA members overwhelmingly voted to authorize a strike action, for which Drescher announced the union's intention to strike the following day on July 14, in a labor dispute with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP)
It ran concurrent with the WGA strike that began just over two months prior.

Ultimately, a tentative agreement was reached on November 8, 2023, and then the contract got ratified on December 5.
In the end, the strike went from July 14 to November this past year, which translates to three months and 26 days, or 118 days.
The 96th Academy Awards went off on March 10 at 7 pm ET/4pm PT live on ABC, hosted for a fourth time by Jimmy Kimmel.
