Experts believe autism and gender-divergence could be linked - with people who do not identify with the sex they were assigned at birth up to six times more likely to be autistic than people without gender dysphoria. They claim the conditions could be connected by both biological factors - such as hormone exposure in the womb - and societal factors - as both trans people and autistic people are more likely to conform less to societal norms.

My common breastfeeding problem was actually stage 4 cancer - a week before giving birth I was given six months to live
A mother in Georgia was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer just days before giving birth after doctors mistook it for a clogged milk duct. Lindsey Parr Gritton was just 29 years old and 36 weeks pregnant with her second child when she went to her OBGYN for a routine checkup. It was April 2022, and Mrs Gritton had noticed a burning lump in her breast, along with swollen lymph nodes near her armpit. However, doctors thought it was just mastitis, inflammation of the breast tissue that could be caused by a clogged milk duct or bacteria. Mrs Gritton insisted on an ultrasound of the lump, which came back as 'highly suspected of cancer.' Further tests revealed stage four breast cancer. 'I literally saved my own life just by asking for that,' the now 31-year-old told People. Mrs Gritton is just one of many young Americans diagnosed with cancer , with rates in under-50s skyrocketing by 30 percent in just 20 years.
Nearly 10,000 'hormone-warping' chemicals can leach into your food from ONE plastic container, study finds
Norwegian researchers tested different plastic food packaging from around the world, and found that almost all contained substances that interfere with the body's hormones or metabolism. The chemicals included bisphenol A (BPA) and phthalates, which are known to be hormone disruptors and have already been banned in large amounts from certain products like baby bottles.
Does washing your fruits and veggies remove toxic pesticides? Why some experts say rinsing could be 'useless'...
Everyone's heard that you should wash your produce before you eat it to get rid of dirt, bugs and pesticides. People online have taken that advice to heart - like TikTok user Kaeli Mae , who made a video using baking soda and vinegar to give her fruit 'hospital level decontamination'. This is an understandable reaction as pesticides have been historically linked to thyroid disease, diabetes and kidney disease, according to the NIH . Most recently, researchers at UCLA have raised alarm bells, connecting these pesticides to an increased risk of developing Parkinson's for Americans who carry certain genetic mutations.

Four middle-aged women contract HIV from Kim Kardashian favorite 'vampire facials' at New Mexico salon, CDC confirms
The official statement marks the first known HIV cases transmitted through cosmetic injection. 'Vampire facials', popularized by celebrities like Kim Kardashian , involve extracting blood from elsewhere on the body and injecting it into the face in the hope of stimulating new, rejuvenated skin cells.
Pesticides found in up to HALF of childrens' apple juice bottles could lead to PARKINSONS, new study suggests
Exposure to a trio of pesticides found in up to 95 percent of American fruit and veggies could increase the risk of developing Parkinson's disease in those with a genetic vulnerability, a new study suggests. Experts from UCLA found that Americans who carry 26 genetic mutations could be especially vulnerable to brain damage related to certain chemicals in produce. Parkinson's disease is a degenerative neurological disorder that affects areas of the brain that govern movement, speech, and memory. It affects nearly one million Americans.

Experts warn of 'epidemic' in nearsightedness with half the world needing glasses by 2050...and it's not just because of screen time
Half of the world will need glasses by 2050, leading to a global vision epidemic, eye experts warn. Recent research shows that the rate of myopia - nearsightedness - has increased by nearly 25 percent in several countries. Dr Andrew Herbert, a psychologist focusing on visual perception at the Rochester Institute of Technology, warned that based on this research, if these trends continue, as many as 4billion people will need corrective lenses. However, despite claims that screen time is to blame, Dr Herbert said that the rise could be due spending more time reading and less time outside, as well as rapid industrialization in the developing world.
